Dark brown with ruby highlights and a thin head of tan foam. Aroma of dark roasted, ever-so-slightly-burnt malt, maple candy, and toasted nut hulls. Flavour follows pretty closely on the aroma at first, with slightly burnt/bitter malt and maple off the top, before some dark coffee bean notes develop. A quick suggestion of sour cherry pops up towards the finish, followed by a last lingering hint of slightly smoky malt.
